Local Government Fraud Awareness
In light of all the changes taking place in respect to the Single Fraud Investigation Service, INTEC have decided to hold their annual discussion and training event on the 15th and 16th December 2011 in Manchester. This will be a full 2 day event this year in light of a packed agenda that has been put together. The planned agenda is subject to a few confirmations from speakers that have been invited (as indicated).
Have a look at the agenda here.
The agenda looks to provide relevant updates, and in a way training for those that wish to understand more about how best to adapt your fraud teams. By ranging topics across tenancy fraud, corporate fraud, SFIS and open forums, it hopes to provide each of you with something new.
Upcoming Reports
Throughout October and November it is expected that numerous government agencies will be releasing reports, relating to the way in which fraud will be tackled in the future. With the timing of these reports and the lack of 'conferences' or working groups, INTEC felt that this event would be perfect timing and would look to incorporate the feedback from the relevant government bodies. With the dates selected it will be able to bring the first major discussions of the NFA launch on 1st December and the DWP 'Options Paper' from the end of November.
Working closely with others...
LAIOG have been very supportive towards everything that has been happening with fraud over the last 12 months and have been speaking for its members. INTEC have tried to assist LAIOG where possible and in return LAIOG are supporting this event. Some of the time on the agenda will help you all to get together and discuss what is happening and how you can move forward. There is likely to be specific fall out discussions and training where requested. These will be subject to feedback at the event, or as requested prior.
Costs
The event this year is priced very low, probably our lowest ever, in order to attract a bigger number of delegates. In light of cost cutting and lack of budget for training or forum events, INTEC felt it best to make it as cost effective as possible by offering day delegate rates too. Obviously it is preferred that everyone attends both days and joins in the evening 'networking', but this isn't always possible. The event is priced at only £245 for 2 days including all hotel accomodation, meals and entertainment. Day rates are also available.
As a large attendance is expected this year and with spaces limited, it would be best to confirm your places as soon as you can. The booking form shows costs and the contact details to return it back to.
Kind regards
The INTEC Team.
